    Premier at Sawmill

The project involved the comprehensive renovation of an existing 50,000 SF fitness center in a suburb of Columbus. The existing facility has been completely transformed from modifications to the exterior entry canopy to substantial renovations on all floor levels.

The state-of-the-art renovation included the following amenities: cardio, strength training, spinning, pilates, racquetball, aquatics, spa services, cafe and a children's area. A new elevator was added to provide accessibility to all levels of the club. To provide maximum visibility within the club, all railings were designed with full glass panels.

The project succeeded in fully transforming the previously dated interiors into a vibrant and energetic environment that is operationally superior and also attractive to existing and prospective members. However, the most important aspect was the achievement of the owner's vision in giving Premier Athletic Club a new image as a frontrunner in the arena of modern athletic club design.

    Athletic Club of Columbus

The Athletic Club of Columbus, established in 1916, has long been an integral part of the downtown community.

Our project involves the development of a master plan and feasibility study for the renovation of this historic club to infuse functionality and modern amenities to keep up with the times. The club's redevelopment features modifications and additions in retail, fitness, a multipurpose event space, an aquatics area, childcare, and men's and women's locker rooms.

    Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club

The Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club was modeled after the classic, turn-of-the-century American golf clubs. It's design used elements and materials typical of East Coast architecture: stone walls, lap siding, prominent trim detailing, dormers and porches; all with attention to proportion and scale. In its elegance, the clubhouse is comfortable and welcoming, and remains consistent with the traditional character of its surroundings.

Kinsale's slate of amenities included a full-service grille, a pro shop, full locker and spa facilities, a conference center, massage services, a child-care facility, fitness and aerobics rooms, a pilates area, computer golf simulation systems, outdoor pools and spas, and tournament-level tennis courts.

The challenge was to create a facility encompassing more than 30,000 square feet while maintaining the comforts and feel of home. This challenge was met in all aspects of the design; as evidenced by the club and golf course's selection in 2004 by Golf Digest as one of Americas best.

    Aquatic Adventures

Located in a suburb of Columbus, this 28,500 sf natatorium complex accommodates competitive and recreational swimming including scuba diving certification programs. The facility included a full service dive shop, swim-related retail area, travel agency and corporate offices for the owners management company. The building, sited adjacent to a major interstate highway, appropriately attracted attention and effectively promoted the facility's aquatic-related functions.

The exterior featured galvanized corrugated metal siding, stucco, synthetic stone cladding and aluminum storefront and entry systems. The rooflines were curved to simulate waves. Exterior sunscreens and canopies helped reduce interior heat gain and glare.

From the exterior's 'Diver Down' red-glazed windows, to the facility's sophisticated environmental control systems, the project successfully merged the technical requirements of a dive instruction facility with the contagious vitality of a typical Dive and Swim Shop.

The Country Club at Muirfield Village

The expansion of the existing clubhouse included areas for fitness, group exercise, child care, locker rooms, personal training studios, a pro shop and lounges.

The design was positioned to establish a new point of entry into the clubhouse while allowing a dynamic interior space and connectivity to the existing building.

This project was a part of an ongoing master plan effort, that would include renovations throughout this historic club over the course of several years.
